There’s something about April that invites a soft exhale.
After a long Winter, this is the season where everything starts to stir again. You might feel it too; a quiet nudge to open the windows, to let in more light, to create a little more space around you. For me, April is the month of Renewal.
Here’s what I’ve learned over the years as an energetic young thing: renewal doesn’t have to mean tackling your whole house in one weekend. Sometimes, the most powerful shifts come from the smallest, most thoughtful changes.
If you're craving a sense of clarity and lightness, start here—with three simple areas you can gently declutter this week.

1. The Entryway or Drop Zone
This space holds more weight than we realize. It’s the first place you see when you walk through the door and often the first to collect the season’s leftovers—coats, boots, gloves, mail, the things we drop and forget.
Try this:
Tuck away heavy winter coats and scarves
Recycle or shred any old papers or mail
Swap winter shoes for lighter options you’ll wear now
Why it matters: Clearing this area shifts the energy immediately. It sets the tone when you enter your home—like a soft “welcome back” to yourself.

2. The Pantry or Refrigerator
Food is a form of energy, and your kitchen stores more than just ingredients—it often holds memories, old routines, and things you no longer need.
Try this:
Let go of expired pantry items or anything you didn’t enjoy
Clear out sauces and heavy foods from colder months
Wipe shelves and re-style with a lighter touch
Why it matters: This space nourishes you. When it's fresh and clear, making choices about what to eat or cook becomes easier—and more intuitive.

3. Your Candle or Self-Care Stash
This one's for your senses and your soul. Over time, candles, lotions, bath items, and oils can start to feel more like clutter than care—especially if they’re half-used, expired, or not quite right for you anymore.
Try this:
Toss dried-up or almost-burned candles
Let go of products you’re not excited to use
Organize what you love in a small basket or tray
Why it matters: Creating space for what truly nourishes you sends a quiet but powerful message: “I’m allowed to feel good. I’m allowed to enjoy this.”

Let Renewal Be Gentle
You don’t need to do it all. Just start somewhere. Even the smallest space you refresh with love becomes a ripple of renewal throughout your home—and your spirit.
Here’s to a soft, beautiful start to Spring. 🌿
